A small rant about today’s events.
I wasn’t going to write anything on it at all, but i’ve been absolutely astounded today, both positively and negatively, following the death of the man in Woolwich.
On one hand, the amount of un-educated, racist, borderline illiterate people that I have on my Facebook have crawled out of the woodwork to voice their opinion on something they know very little about, which is equally horrific, yet hilarious at the same time as my brother and I have found out this afternoon. Every time someone commented or posted something stupid, we passed it on to each other, just to see who had said it, and 9 times out of 10, it was somebody we half expected. The funniest part is, the people we knew making these comments have amounted to very little in their 20+ years of existence, so it really didn’t come as much of a surprise. Needless to say, swift deletes occurred.
Yet, on the other hand, the amount of people replying to said idiots above, questioning them and basically disproving everything they say, has been rather refreshing. It’s nice to see people standing up to such abhorrent behaviour, even if it should be standard.
The main reason i’m posting this is, because, for many years, I was brought up as a Muslim (i’m not now, however, and haven’t been for a long long time), and my mother also is. Granted, she isn’t a practicing Muslim but she would consider herself to be one. It worries me that people back at home know this and may decide to “take action” as it were. She has worked solidly, often working 2 jobs, nights and days, whilst also looking after my brother and I for the majority of our lives, and I do believe that she has every right to live over here, even if she wasn’t born here and isn’t white. The irony of this is that the people complaining about Muslims, and immigrants, and the rest of it, often are the people that are work shy and haven’t had a job in forever. (i’m only basing that last sentence off the majority of the people i’ve seen on my Facebook, it’s not a general statement).
People really need to educate themselves on the state of this country, rather than reading the Sun and believing every retarded piece of misinformation that gets thrown at them.

Seems my last post about Biffy Clyro got a bit of attention.
Give a shit. They went from being a genuinely decent UK band, to becoming god awful and releasing shitty, middle of the road songs, without any hint of the spazziness and genuine talent that they once had.
